Moriah College raises funds for Movember

Students and staff from Sydney’s Moriah College have so far raised an impressive $12,000 for The Movember Foundation.

The inability to grow facial hair isn’t stopping students at Moriah College from supporting the cause, which aims to raise money and awareness to help tackle serious men’s health issues.

Established 15 years ago in 2003, the Movember movement is working to reduce the number of men dying too young due to prostate and testicular cancers and suicide.

The organisation has funded important research and more than 1200 men’s health projects worldwide and, by 2030, aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.

On Friday, 23 November 2018, the younger members of Moriah came together for Mo Day, sporting fake moustaches which they had purchased from the Moriah Movember Team, with all proceeds donated to The Movember Foundation.
