Roseville College is an established Anglican independent day school for girls on Sydney’s North Shore; well-regarded for its good character, its ability to lead and inspire young women as learners and leaders, and its welcoming school community for students and their families alike. Foremost, Roseville College is a learning community of more than 900 girls in Kindergarten to Year 12.

The School’s size privileges its teachers and support staff to know and care for each girl, partnering with each girl to ensure her learning pathway is rigorous and personalised; yet broad, and balanced with healthy relationships and pastoral care, a positive – even ambitious attitude to learning, and inspirational leadership underpinned by timeless Christian values and Biblical truth.

Founded in 1908, the College ranks among NSW’s leading schools in HSC achievement, while also delivering world-class learning initiatives such as the IB Primary Years Program and Cambridge Courses in Years 9–10.

Every girl is well known and inherently valued; a feature girls and parents often comment on as being a positive and distinctive characteristic of the College. Tellingly, Roseville alumni and their families also credit the School with having a significant role in helping girls develop indispensable and commendable qualities such as self-confidence, optimism, a spirit of inquiry and wonder, wisdom and personal accountability, a concern for others, and the courage and confidence to “have a go”. In essence, this is the character of a Roseville Girl.

Vision for girls:

The College looks to, and embraces, the future. Its vision for each child is that she is inspired and equipped to unpackage and realise her purpose – both now and in the future – as she lives a full life with meaning and virtue.

In the School’s caring, well-resourced surrounds, each girl engages in opportunities that are personally challenging to achieve both curricular and valuable transferable learning outcomes. The College’s student wellbeing and chaplaincy programs help clarify and forge her inner person and faith, helping her find her place in her world. Across the spectrum of College life, she is empowered by who she is and what she knows (and what she has courage to try) to identify and affect positive change on the world around her; to lead, inquire, inspire and serve others.

Location and facilities: Roseville College is centrally located in the suburb of Roseville on Sydney’s North Shore. While its 2.3-hectare campus is discretely set among tranquil, heritage-listed residential streets, a personalised tour reveals well-resourced and considered campus. It includes a Junior School complex, Middle School complex, Senior Girls’ Study and Recreation area, Multi-Purpose Hall and Chapel, a Performing Arts Centre (featuring an acoustic 350-seat auditorium, drama and recording studios), Creative Arts Centre, a contemporary Library and specialised learning spaces, a heated swimming pool and multi-sport outdoor courts. An advantage of its central location, for those beyond walking distance, is easy access to major arterial roads and train lines, which enable a straightforward commute from the Upper and Lower North Shore, as well as Lane Cove, Ryde, Manly Warringah and the Hills district.

Pastoral care, personal development and student welfare: Just as each girl has her own interests and learning preferences, she may also have needs that differ to her peers. Importantly, during the significant yet finite time girls are at school, the College provides avenues for girls to refine practical life and interpersonal skills as they also mature in their character and knowledge.

The College’s well-renowned student development and wellbeing initiatives provide active guidance and support to each girl subject to the stage of her schooling, age-appropriated milestones, and in consultation with her parents and guardians. These may include all, or a combination of, the following: class and pastoral care groups, mentoring, chaplaincy services, outdoor education adventures and camps, service learning, established leadership and peer network programs that foster positive connections, careers guidance (including work experience and careers evenings), student wellbeing seminars and events, community service, co-curricular programs, philanthropic and social justice activities.

Roseville College reports consistently strong academic results (culminating in the HSC) and ranks among top educational performers in NSW. The School is non-selective. The rigorous academic curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12 is characterised by teaching excellence and a personal concern for how each girl learns best, including learning enrichment as is beneficial.

Especially in Senior years, students choose from a broad range of elective subject choices that allows each girl to tailor her learning in a meaningful way aligned with her life’s passions and purpose.

Alongside a varied and rigorous academic curriculum, Roseville girls from Kindergarten to Year 12 find balance by pursuing a personal passion or trying new challenges from myriad sporting, creative, STEAM, leadership, personal, service and community opportunities available at the School. (The co-curricular offering includes, but is not restricted to: Service Learning Trips, Tournament of Mind, Mock Trial, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, Crusaders, clubs for Debating and Public Speaking, Robotics, Coding, STEM, Community Service and Charity, Drama and Musical Productions, Music Tuition and Performance, Bands, Student Representative Council, Sports, and more.)

Consequently, Roseville girls develop an authentic sense of personal courage, confidence, belonging, ownership and connection to the College and to one another.
