Ivanhoe Grammar School is a multi-campus coeducational Anglican school providing students and their families access to outstanding educational opportunities. The

The Ivanhoe Campus incorporates Buckley House and The Ridgeway Campus, offering Early Learning to Year 12. Our Plenty Campus in Mernda offers learning from Prep to Year 12 with all the benefits of a smaller school environment with just over 500 students.

Ivanhoe Grammar School has been educating young people since 1915, and while much has changed since our humble beginnings, the philosophy of our founding Headmaster is still at the core of our practices. We believe in supporting our students to be the best they can be in their academic and co-curricular achievements, and in the development of their individual character. We encourage a strong ethos of service to others, and provide opportunity for our students to be active contributors to their community.

At Ivanhoe Grammar School students are engaged in their learning by passionate and dedicated teachers. Alongside encouraging a love of learning and innovative educational experiences, Ivanhoe Grammar School is committed to fully preparing students for the successful transition to tertiary study and the workforce through a personalised, futures-focused senior years pastoral model.

We understand the journey through school is much more than just a great education, it is about opportunities within and beyond the classroom. Committed to service learning and leadership, our focus is on developing students with a global outlook. We provide an authentic learning experience to develop creative and critical thinkers who are courageous and compassionate global citizens taking action in a collaborative, responsible and ethical way.

Across all our campuses we offer a personalised approach to our curriculum, taking into account the different stages of children’s development and attitude toward learning. This approach focuses on ensuring our students meet their full potential and prepares them for the challenges and responsibilities of life after school.

In primary years we provide a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy, teaching through encouragement and inspiring a love of learning.

In Middle Years we focus on the development of the whole child and provide innovative educational experience, particularly through our Year 9 Program in which students participate in unique out-of-classroom experiences designed to develop independent learning.

In the Senior Years students are able to prepare for the challenges of the VCE over three years rather than two. Ivanhoe Grammar School is an authorised International Baccalaureate World School, therefore, our Year 12 students have the choice of studying what suits their needs: either the VCE or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program – expanding their options for tertiary education.
