Moreton Bay College athletes succeed

Moreton Bay College (MBC) athletes came away from the recent Queensland Athletics Championships with a multitude of medals.

The charge was led by T36 athlete Abby Craswell who set a Queensland record in the U/15 100m and an Australian record in the Long Jump; as well as winning Gold in the 200m.

The college produced several multiple medalists with Lily Neil (U/14) winning Gold in the 80m Hurdles and Bronze in her 100m and 200m events.

Middle-distance athlete Emma Bible showed her versatility, coming from two individual wins at the recent QGSSSA Swimming Championships to take home track medals – a Gold medal in the U/15 800m and a Silver in the 1500m. Her middle-distance teammate Ellie Ryan took Silver in the U/18 800 and 1500 meters.

Sprinter Olivia Reynolds (U/17) raced away with two Silver medals in her pet 100m and 200m events.

Other Silver medallists included Nyree Hamilton (U/17 800m), Lily Yadlosky (U/17 Long Jump) and Grace Collins (U/17 Javelin). Tiah Cash (U/15 1550m) and Annabelle Barnett (U/15 400m) successfully claimed Bronze medals.

“Many other MBC athletes made the finals, and most finished in the top five placings,” said Sue Pavish, Director of Sport at Moreton Bay College. “All these results reflect the quality and strength of the Track and Field programme offered at the College.”
