McDonald College students win bstreetsmart competition

Five Year 10 students from The McDonald College in Sydney have been named the national winners of the 2018 BFilmed Road Safety film competition, held as part of the annual bstreetsmart event.

Their short film, which included real life paramedics, was shot and directed by the students.

The announcement was made to a crowd of over 7000 students at Qudos Bank Arena on 28 August 2018. Students were awarded both a trophy and a $1500 prize, which will go towards the College.

The bstreetsmart initiative aims to raise awareness around road safety for young people aged between 15 to 30, and reduce fatality and injury rates of young people by promoting safe behaviour as drivers, riders and passengers.
